Biography
Maxime Mandrake is a Belgian magician, immersive experience designer, and visionary illusionist. At just 28 years old, he is making a name for himself on the international magic scene by blending tradition with innovation in every performance.
Passionate about the art of sleight of hand since childhood, Maxime joined the prestigious Academy of Magical Arts at The Magic Castle in Los Angeles in 2019. In 2023, he stood out at the World Performing Arts Championship by winning both a gold and a silver medal. In 2024, he received a cultural merit award recognizing his dedication and perseverance in promoting the art of magic in Belgium.
Positioned at the crossroads of traditional and new magic, Maxime defines himself as an artist who pushes the boundaries of illusion. His unique style—elegant, poetic, and captivating—invites audiences to explore dreamlike worlds where imagination comes alive and where the word “magic” regains its true meaning.

Why Maxime Mandrake?
At the age of 12, Maxime’s passion for magic began to take shape. Determined to find a stage name, the young magician immersed himself in the fantasy worlds that inspired him. A huge Harry Potter fan, he was intrigued by the magical plant “mandrake,” known for its mystical properties. That name, translated into English, became his stage identity: Mandrake.
Later, he discovered the classic American comic strip Mandrake the Magician by Lee Falk and Phil Davis. The storyline of a magician using his powers to fight evil resonated deeply with Maxime’s desire to combat cynicism through wonder. In 2024, he received official approval from Lone Mandrake, son of the legendary magician Leon Mandrake, to carry on the name and legacy.

Founded by Maxime Mandrake, the Magic Minds Academy is more than a typical magic school. Our mission goes beyond teaching technique—we aim to help each student create their own magical universe while uncovering the hidden aspects of being a professional illusionist.
Above all, we seek to reveal each student’s artistic potential. We believe that magic is more than temporary amazement—it should leave a lasting impression on the hearts and minds of those who witness it.
